Campaign Desired Outcomes

Desired Outcomes from
Congressional Run (realistic):
- Call
even more attention to the deficit and the national debt
- Enough
votes to show moderates are looking for representation
- Convince
more independents to participate in the political parties
- I
am convinced so many people call themselves independents because they
believe the two major parties cater too much to the extreme views of the
core supporters. I believe
this leads to the parties only presenting candidates with extreme views.
I’d like to see the independents come back to the party system
which will promote more candidates which represent more of the general
population.
- Promote
the candidate selection process
- Another
reason we end up with few candidates to choose from is because people
think it is useless to attempt to get elected.
I found it is reasonably easy to get on the ballot.
With as many people fed up with congress and as many people in
recent grass roots organizations, why couldn’t the “Tea Party” or
like organizations get four people to stand up in the Republican Primary
and 2 more in the Democratic primary?
- Inspire
people to want a more complicated explanation of issues and solutions.
- Fulfill
a lifelong desire to get on a Congressional Ballot
Desired Outcomes from Congressional Run (unfettered by
reality)
- Be
elected as the representative for the 8th congressional district.
- Contribute
to the national debate on spending, taxes, healthcare, education, the
business environment and the military.
- Become
privy to the inner workings and logic of
Washington
. I’d like to hear the
lobbyist pitches and see how long my values last.
I’d like to report my findings back to my neighbors and friends.
- Is
global warning real?
- How
much of the TARP money really went into cronies pockets?
- Why
can’t Republicans talk to Democrats?
- Justify
medical charges like $80 a month for a little piece of plastic?
The actual insurance allowable
cost for the piece of plastic shown in the picture below is $80.88 a month.
An uninsured person would be charged $209.63 a month for the rental of
this piece.
